Our Mission
Chrysalis brings the young and the young at heart into connection with the earth using the natural flow of the seasons. From earth, to water, to plants to trees, to us. We open our visitors’ eyes to help them see the world in a more imaginative and expansive way!
Our Story
James Meyer had the idea to start Chrysalis after witnessing the transformative power of being in relationship with the Earth.
A young employee of James’ window washing business was going through a difficult time, and James invited him on a whim to join him to go capture a wild beehive with a master beekeeper friend of his. They suited up and embarked on this adventure together, and in the process of capturing the hive, James saw the young man’s eyes light up. “It was as if his world went from gray to color” James describes.
A light bulb went off for James too, seeing how this experience touched this man. As James invited him to do more work on the property, he could see a change taking place in his employee. He became more grounded, inspired, and in tune with the natural world around him. James sees this land as a place of great potential where he dreams that many more people can be inspired by connecting with nature, even if just for a day. He went on to found the nonprofit, Chrysalis, to fulfill this dream.
